Omen
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a brand new Omen, and there is a hidden proxy that I don't know how to disable... proxy is disabled in windows and also in my browser. I can't access certain websites here in Australia because it is going through a US proxy. Can anyone please tell me how to disable it. It is ridiculous that these computers sold in Australia go through a US proxy.

My mistake, it has nothing to do with the omen... I installed my anti-virus and privacy software on the same day I bought the computer... It was a setting in the software called digital fingerprinting protection that was turned on... This enabled the proxy... Problem solved...

Why would I want to set the dns servers to google? I just want this proxy disabled.

Which seems to be this company:

Perhaps some antivirus  or vpn or security software on your laptop doing it.

This video shows how to reset your network.

What browser are you using? Browsers can override internet settings.

I already know who's IP address it is, that's why I know it's in the US. A simple google search showed that.

This is a desktop by the way, not the laptop Omen.

This issue has been there from the very beginning. It is embedded somewhere from the factory.

As I already stated, proxy is turned off in windows, and in my browser (firefox).

Thanks for trying to help.

Glad it's sorted and thanks for letting us know. Well done asking for help and following it through to help yourself. It takes a negative experience and turns it into a positive one.
