I took down my computer network to paint my room, when i put it all back together the computer would not recognise my network. My printer is connected to the network and my computer will connect to the  internet but I cannot print from my desktop to my printer. I have not been able to find a way to connect to my network. the computer generated a generic network and I don't know how to connect to MY network

You don't have to let the computer use a "generated" network - it may have done so because it cannot by itself reach your router / network.

Consider:

Control Panel > icon view > Network and Sharing Center

Set up a new connection or network

Manually connect to a wireless network

You will need to know the following to create the connection:

  • The name of your network (SSID)
  • The password (passphrase) to your network
  • The type of encryption (AES, for example)
  • The type of security (WPA2 / WPA2-PSK)

From your computer's How-to > Wireless, Networking & Internet:

Wireless Network and Internet Troubleshooting (Windows 10)

Is your network "hidden", that is, is the router set to "not" broadcast its setup?

3 ways to connect to hidden Wi-Fi networks in Windows 10

If you need more help, consider checking the many articles on the Internet.

For example, use your favorite search engine and search for "windows 10 manually connect to wifi"
