Hi @josevargas, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your laptop might have encountered a driver issue or a setting change that caused the Wi-Fi functionality to disappear. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check if Wi-Fi is Enabled in Network Settings

  • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Network & Internet.
  • Make sure that Wi-Fi is turned on (it might be off for some reason).

Enable Wi-Fi Using the Function Key

  • Some laptops have a dedicated function key (like F12) to enable/disable Wi-Fi. Look for a symbol that resembles a wireless signal and try pressing it in combination with the Fn key.

Reboot the Laptop

  • A simple restart might resolve any temporary issues with network drivers or settings.

Update Network Drivers

  • Right-click on the Start Menu and choose Device Manager.
  • Expand the Network adapters section.
  • Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter (it might be listed as something like "Intel Wireless" or "Realtek Wi-Fi") and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for drivers.

Reinstall Wi-Fi Drivers

  • In Device Manager, right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop, and Windows should attempt to reinstall the necessary drivers automatically.

Check Airplane Mode

  • If airplane mode is accidentally enabled, it will disable all wireless communication.
  • Make sure Airplane mode is off from the Network & Internet settings or by clicking the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray.

Run the Network Troubleshooter

  • Open Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Click Run next to Network Adapter and follow the on-screen instructions.

If none of these steps work, it might be worth checking whether the Wi-Fi card is physically malfunctioning or whether there's an issue with the OS installation.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
