3 Bios Updates for HP Envy 750-42c

Greetings,

I recently purchased a HP Envy 750-427c as an upgrade to my older HP desktop. It comes with Windows 10(64 bit).  I went to check the HP Support Assistant for updates and found that I have 3 Bios updates. Thinking that the Bios updates were for my specific computer, I went ahead and updated the fist Bios listed( I should have written down the Bios description). The update went on smoothly.

When I attempted to update the second Bios, it stated that the Bios is not a match for my system( not the exact wording but close). I cancelled the update when I saw that.

Now my question is why the 3 Bios updates? Should I continue the updates even though it states that it is not a match?

I see only ONE BIOS-update:

HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update (ROM Family SSID 828A) Version: F.15 Rev.A File size: 8.1 MB Release date: Oct 13, 2016

I should have written down the Bios Update description but I think that the one you listed is the one I updated first. I double checked my HP Support Assistant and it listed two more:

ROM Family SSID 2b4b

ROM Family SSID 830c

Hi. I have a one year old HP Envy Phoenix 860-014 windows 10 model and I also have 3 bios updates using HP support assistant. That can't be right.  I set HP Support assistant to never check for updates and am ignoring them and any other updates for now.

Your current BIOS is working.  Correct?  Then, do not update.

Does the documentation that comes with the BIOS update(s) address an issue that you are experiencing?

If not, then do not update.

If possible, "hide" the update, and look at any other updates.

i have similar situation.  I did not do update, instead i forced HP Support Assistance to do another "Check for Updates and Messages".

Now the other two BIOS updates disappeared and only the BIOS Upodate (ROM Family SSID 828A) remains.

I am still relutant to do this update.

Wise move.

For a desktop computer, i.e., not a laptop with a working battery, a loss of AC power during a BIOS update has the possibility of causing an incomplete update of the BIOS, turning your computer into an expensive paper-weight.

Besides, if nothing is wrong, and the documentation that comes with the BIOS update does not indicate that the update fixes a problem that you are experiencing, let the "sleeping dog" alone, by not doing the update.
