Hi
My HP 500-415NS does not see my SSD.
When i go to BIOS, boot priority order, i can't see my SSD drive there, only Windows boot manager and UEFI and USB/DVD
How do i know i have the latest BIOS version and how do i update it?
the PC is 18 months old
Thanks in advance

Hi
Thanks for your reply.
I have already done that, but the BIOS update option is greyed out, please see the image attached.
My current BIOS version is AMI80.11, 10/03/2015.
My processor is AMD A10-6700 APU with Radeon HD Graphics, 3700Mhz, 2 cores, 4 logical processors.
My computer model is HP 500-415NS.
Can you tell me how i can update my BIOS? and why my PC does not see my SSD ?
Thanks

Hi @m3mpower,
Thanks for getting back to me.
All HP drivers can be found at www.support.hp.com.
I do see a newer BIOS. By clicking on the link, it will start the download for you. HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update (ROM Family SSID 2B29) Version A0.12 Rev.A Released: Jul 19, 2016...
Also for the SSD, it could be many things from the BIOS or a loose cable.
Is this a new SSD or an old one the just started working?
Did you just upgrade to Windows 10?
Please get back to me.

it's a brand new SSD, Crucial M500, conencted to a sata 3 port on the motherboard, tried all 4 ports and the BIOS doesn't see it.
When i bought my PC it had windows 8, then i updated it to Windows a few months ago, it still had the original HDD on, so i fitted the SSD, my PC had Windows 10 on it.
When i go to BIOS priority order, it does not show my SSD.
However my PC boots fine, but my SSD is not performing well, it has poor speeds, probably also because the sata port drivers are still the original and never been updated, and i can't find a newer version
Thanks

Have you tried contacting Crucial support. There is a firmware update.
if that does not work, please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp and create a case for your issue and contact HP. If you live outside the US/Canada, please click the link below to get the contact information for your region.

yes i did contact Crucial, and i did update the firmware.
But the problem is not Crucial, why is HP showing a new BIOS version for my PC, and not let me update ?
This is a HP issue, not Crucial.
also, you say i have to contact HP, so am i not on the HP support here ?
