HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I support an environment with a range of HP desktops from G1 & 8300 and earlier 8000, 7900 & 7800 models. I am looking to use the config utility to set a BIOS password.

Having downloaded v4.0.18.1 I have managed to setup what I want on the G1 and 8300 models which works fine, but the same command fails to run on the 8000 and 7800 models (not tested on 7900).

On the 8000 the command  fails and log file suggests it doesn't like the encrypted pwd file.

On the same device I have tried v2.60.13 of the utility, but this didn't appear to do anything - didn't change, report or delete pwd.

All devices have Win7 32 bit, and updates will ultimately be deployed via SCCM 2012

Can anyone advise what version of the utility will/should work with the 8000 and earlier model desktops?

Thanks
