I have the same problem with my 23-p114 that so many have shared here. I have suffered through with this computer for almost a year now. During that time, I have upgraded to Win 10, done a complete Windows Reset (erasing all 3rd-party software), checked RAM, run chkdsk, etc.
None of that has helped.
The computer is SOOOO SLOOOWW. It feels like I'm trying to use a 20-year-old PC. It doesn't make any sense - this machine has 8Gb of RAM, and it should breeze along. SpeedTest shows that downloads speeds are fine, and Task Manager never shows anything out of the ordinary. CPU is not maxed out, RAM usage is typically about 45% Yet, the simplest thing - opening a new browser tab - will have a delay of several seconds. Web pages are so slow to load. Other software runs slowly as well.
I don't understand how there are so many positive reviews out there. Obviously many people have this problem with slowness.
It's so disappointing, as I really like the hardware.

Windows 10 will also slow things down in my experience. Just my opinion but Win 7 is still better. However, Check system services and see what is running in the background and using the most resources. When things slow down check how much ram is available. Turn off any automated disk defragmenting if any are set. Something somewhere must be causing a bottleneck. A new system shouldn't be that slow.

I bought this thing, because my old Dell was slowing down. I am so very disappointed in this junk. I should have kept my computer that was almost 7 years old. It never acted this bad. This junk just freezes up and shuts down for no reason. I have had it about 7 months and it has done it since day one. WARNING DO NOT BUY AN HP COMPUTER THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. JUNK

I have purchased HP all in one in April and from the day one it was slow, freezing for no reason I had to restart all the time, my 9 years old laptop toshiba was much faster then this rubbish.
So after 3 months I took it back to PC World to fix it or replace it and they cleaned disc or something and they said it was a virus?
Virus?!
-it was brand new staff, and Ive had good antyvirus program
Anyway, the computer is still slow, frustrating. Im going to take it back again and ask for refund becouse its redicolous.

Just an update to my post from earlier - My PC mysteriously got much better on the speed.
After over a year of unusably-slow performance I suddenly realized (a couple of months ago now) that it had actually gotten much better.
I'm not sure what the fix was exactly. There were several AMD gaming-evolved updates that got downloaded around the time the speed got better. Maybe some other AMD updates as well.
I've tried to remember if I did anything else, like stop a service that had been running, etc. But I don't think I did. I had tried everything to fix this in the past.
So not sure what to suggest if you're having this problem - make sure that ALL the correct updates have been installed (Windows, AMD, HP, etc).
I still wouldn't describe this machine as "fast" - but it is definitely a usable PC now - comparable to other machines. I still have some issues, but I think they are mostly related to Windows 10 problems.
Good luck!
