Hi Guys,
Thank you but so far no success but I am not sure if I did everything correctly.
1. I downloaded the HP_EC_LMF file and renamed it to EC.LMF
2. I downloaded the Lenovo file
3. I instaled the Lenovo file (after the instalation it wanted me to restart the computer)
4. I replaced the EC.LMF file in the C:\Program Files\Condusiv Technologies\ExpressCache directory with the one I downloaded in step one and only after that I restarted the computer
5. After the restart I run the ExpressCache.exe file in the C:\Program Files\Condusiv Technologies\ExpressCache directory
Nothing much happened, computer still slow. I restarted it, still slow. I run ECCmd.exe and ExpressCache.exe files in the C:\Program Files\Condusiv Technologies\ExpressCache directory again, restarted the computer again and still no change. Do I need to do anything else or differently?
Again thank you for your time.
J.

Perhaps I know the reason now but do not know the solution. During the instalation it told me the ExpressCache could not determinate the SSD. It is telling me to create an ExpressCache partition manually. How can I do that? Anybody knows?
Thank you,
Jiri

ExpressCache software runs like a service, so you can't run ExpressCache.exe manually.
To see if ExpressCache is functional you need to open a Command Prompt (with Administrator rights)
Type:
CD C:\Program Files\Condusiv Technologies\ExpressCache
Then type:
ECCmd -INFO
If ExpressCache is running you normally would get something like:
ExpressCache Command Version 1.3.118.0 Copyright® 2010-2014 Condusiv Technologies. Date Time: 10/31/2015 10:0:12:574 (HP-PAVILION #19) EC Cache Info ================================================== Mounted : Yes Partition Size : 14.91 GB Reserved Size : 3.00 MB Volume Size : 14.91 GB Total Used Size : 11.78 GB Total Free Space : 3.14 GB Used Data Size : 11.71 GB Used Data Size on Disk : 11.77 GB Tiered Cache Stats ================================================== Memory in use : 1024.00 MB Blocks in use : 8188 Read Percent : 6.93% Cache Stats ================================================== Cache Volume Drive Number : 2 Total Read Count : 189552 Total Read Size : 3.42 GB Total Cache Read Count : 146461 Total Cache Read Size : 2.07 GB Total Write Count : 57168 Total Write Size : 1.20 GB Total Cache Write Count : 20139 Total Cache Write Size : 345.64 MB Cache Read Percent : 60.39% Cache Write Percent : 28.18%
Other options are:
ExpressCache Command Version 1.3.118.0 Copyright® 2010-2014 Condusiv Technologies. Date Time: 10/31/2015 10:2:24:953 (HP-PAVILION #19) USAGE: ECCmd [-NOLOGO] [-INFO | -PARTITION | -FORMAT] -NOLOGO - No copyright message will be displayed. -INFO - Display ExpressCache activity information. -PARTITION - Create an ExpressCache partition. [DriveId] - Optional drive ID [PartSize] - Optional partition size in MB -FORMAT - Format the cache volume.
So if ExpressCache is not running, or no ExpressCache drive is found you need to find the drive ID of the ExpressCache SSD by hand. Open a Command Prompt (with Administrator rights)
Type:
Diskpart
Then type:
LIST DISK
Disk ### Status Size Free Dyn Gpt -------- ------------- ------- ------- --- --- Disk 0 Online 232 GB 1024 KB * Disk 1 Online 931 GB 0 B * Disk 2 Online 14 GB 0 B
In my case the ExpressCache SSD is disk 2 (Remember this number for use with ECCmd)
CD C:\Program Files\Condusiv Technologies\ExpressCache
ECCmd -PARTITION 2
If you have more drives and you like to double check if you have the right SanDisk ExpressCache SDD, type
DISKPART
SELECT DISK 2
Followed by
DETAIL DISK
SanDisk SDSA6DM-016G-1006 Disk ID: 74F02DEA Type : SATA Status : Online Path : 4 Target : 0 LUN ID : 0 Location Path : PCIROOT(0)#PCI(1F02)#ATA(C04T00L00) Current Read-only State : No Read-only : No Boot Disk : No Pagefile Disk : No Hibernation File Disk : No Crashdump Disk : No Clustered Disk : No There are no volumes.

Hi RvdH,
Thank you for your time. I tried to folow your instructions but it seems that there will be more changed in my computer after the W10 instalation
1. When tried the
CD C:\Program Files\Condusiv Technologies\ExpressCache
command, nothing happened at all. But the location of the program is correct.
2. Anyway believing that ExpressCache does not work I tried the other LOST DISK command. I know that I have 1000GB clasical hardrive + 32GB SSD. But after typing the LOST DISK command I got listed the 1000GB disk + some other 8GB disk. I have 8GB RAM but I am not sure if that one should be on the list. Nothing with 32GB was listed.
I will try again this evening because there were some updates that were downloaded. Perhaps something will change.
Thank you again.

WOOT, thanks to you linking that LMF file, I was finally able to get expresscache to work (even the official sandisk version wouldn't install as it doesn't think my sandisk 16gb drive is supposed to be used for caching)
After removing expresscache (ECWin10Cleanup from asus), I then installed levenos expresscache, copied the LMF file, and upon boothing ran eccmd -info and for the first time since upgrading to windows 10 I received actual cache information.
BIG HONKING WOOT.

Thanks for all the information. I'm trying to enabe Expresscache on my 27" HP Envy recline (HP-k127c) all-in one.
I bought this years ago and the slowness after Win 10 upgrade is killing me.
Anyway a couple problems: When I installed the Lenovo Expresscache v1.3.118 and installed it, there was no .LMF file there at all. So I looked in Windows.old and that folder is empty 😞
I downloaded the HP_EC.LMF File above and added it tothe Expresscache directory and rebooted.
C:\>ECCmd -info

How do I get Expresscache to pick up the right license information?
Thanks!

Well then... Nevermind. GOT IT WORKING!
You have to install the lenovo expresscache and delay the subsequent restart (reboot) until after you swap in the correct EC.LMF file
Wow! night and day difference in speeds - web page loads, etc. . Reboot time went from 5-4 minutes to less than a minute till I'm back surfing those same web pages again.
FIXED!
And shame on HP for not releasing a software update for this. I'll remember that next time I'm in the market.

Good luck, after having my SSD fail *3* times in a year, I've instead opted to replace the boot drive with the new seagate firedrive, and possibly rig up a second storage drive in the place of the Sandisk SSD (via a double decker hard drive cage). While the Sandisk SSD w/expresscache at its peak was quicker than the firedrive, overtime it slowed down and eventually failed (3x, the final time requiring an epic fight to get HP to acknowledge it was still under the replacement part's warranty ) so I would not suggest using the SSD for cache (or even as a boot drive unless you opt for a much higher upmarket version than the HP one we all know and perhaps loathe.) (it's extremely unlikely I'd ever buy another HP product personally)

That stinks... I'm really hoping that SSD reliability picks up. My HP all-in one System system was a cheaper model with a 5400-RPM Spinny-disk as the primary drive so the ExpressCache really helps out there. I'm considering upgrading to a primary HDD as well. Not sure if I'd want to upgrade the 2.5" primary drive or if I would replace the Expresscache with a real mSATA drive to use as an OS drive and keep other files on the older drive.
Any idea if the SATA porta support SATA, SATA II or SATA III speeds? What was the clock speed on your primary HDD? 3.0G or 6.0 G? I can't find anything conclusive on that.
Thanks!
Bill
