Hi HPW8-1User,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you desktop is generating an error code when when trying to install the Original Fintek eHome Transceiver Driver, and I would be happy to assist you! To begin, I will need to ask you a few questions:
- What is the Product and Model Number of your desktop computer?
- What version of Windows are you using?
- Have you installed any new software or hardware to your computer recently?
- Has your computer completed all of its important Windows Updates?
In the meantime, please take a look at this document on Win 8.1 Fintek eHome Transceiver driver fails to install. This should help with the installation process for your transceiver driver.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, as well as the requested information. I look forward to your reply!
Regards

I am also having probelms with the reciever. I have Windows 8.1. I never use the remote reciever on my HP Touchsmart 600 but would like to solve this probelm. I downloaded the ZIp file CIR-Fintek.zip as instructed. However when i try to extract using ExpessZip it states that the file is corrupted or in an incompatible fomat so won't open it. What can i do.

I had the same problem with the windows 8.1 update on an HP touchsmart 520. the file from HP 'SP49795.exe' does not install properly. I found a driver on the ECS Europe website for the fintek ehome transceiver -
under the CIR section.
file name should be: CIR_fintek.zip
I extracted to a separate directory and ran setup. it installed properly and under devices it shows properly. windows update will now still try to update the driver but it will now work.
Hope this helps
