Hello @Jaybird69,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that your display is flashing in colours. I am happy to assist you with this.
When it is shifting colours are you still able to see what is on the screen or is it a solid colour?
Have you tried connecting to a different device, or used a different connection or input on the display? Looking at the HP Pavilion w2338h Monitor - Product Specifications, your display supports VGA and HDMI (version 1.3).
You can also check out this document for some troubleshooting options: HP and Compaq Flat Panel Displays - Display Quality Issues
It would also be useful to check whether the same thing happens if you connect a different display to your computer. Also, please post the full product number and operating system in use on your computer. See the following, if you need help with that information.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Please let me know if any of that helps, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.
