Hello, Im looking into upgrading my HP Compaq DC7900 Small Form Factor PC's graphics.
Currantly its using Intel Q45/Q43 Chipset intergrated graphics. i want to put in an external card that will give it enough power for modern gaming.
The power supply is the only real issue. Its a 240 watt power supply and as far as I can see its not upgradable.
I need to know what the best possible card I can run in this system will be. I plan on running the following hardware once its completely upgraded.
4 gigabytes of 240-pin DDR2 SDRAM (2 cards)
One Western Digital 1 Terrabyte harddrive 7200rpm SATA
A standard DVD drive
Intel Core 2 Duo dual core processer running 64 bit Windows 7
And the standard case fan included in the case
All help is greatly appreciated thanks :3

All you need do is read the specs page. It lists all the cards that fit into the SFF.

The power supply is upgradeable, but difficult to tear out. See recycling guide:http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/globalcitizenship/environment/productdata/Countries/_MultiCountry/disassemb...

Hey nauticar!
I tried to install Clib 3d radeon hd7750 on my dc7900 sff. When i start my conputer it runs a while normally but after like 30 seconds Power supplys fan start run with very speed and computer wont boot to windows. So i think that my power supply doesnt provide enough power. Did you had this kind of problems????
best regards!

Hi myoha,
To answer your question, no, I did not encounter the problem that you have.
For the record my (SFF) dc7900 uses the stock power supply, and that I'm using HIS 7750 iCooler (not that it is any much different from the Club 7750 HD that you're using). I put the settings to maximum clock (using the pre-bundled ATI software). No issues.
Try removing the card, and switch your PC on and see if the problem persists. I'd also clean out your PC (and PSU) of dust, update the BIOS, and ensure that your power source (mains) is supplying a good constant current.
Other than that, I'm not really sure what could be the underlying cause (because I'm not using the Club card, I'm using the HIS card). Hope you get this solved - Regards

This is a relatively old post. However, I was looking at purchasing a HP DC7900 and wondered if the graphics card you refer to is the HIS 7750 1GB version (Rather than the 2GB).

I wouldn't be upgrading the power supply, and I would be leaving as it is after purchasing.
Cheers.
