Product: HP Compaq Pro 6300 SFF
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I was looking to upgrade to this graphics card from the IGPU: https://us.msi.com/Graphics-card/Radeon-RX-460-2GT-LP.html#hero-specification I was wondering if the PCI Express slot would output enough power to run this card. Do I need a new power supply, and if so, what do you recommend? It currently has the stock 240W power supply.

I don't confirm whether the RX460 can support, but can support the options example is as follows：

Could I connect an external power supply to the graphics card to completely power it if it has a 6-pin connection ? Also, would the GT 730 work?

You need to run this program to determine the Boot Environment.

If the motherboard BIOS in your machine is BIOS   it is not capable of ever supporting UEFI.   The newer cards support UEFI, like the GT 730.  There are Hybrid cards by MSI and Shappire that support BIOS and UEFI via a swtich.

 

In reality what you have is an off-lease re-manufactured product that is circa fall 2012.  The PSU is non-standard,  and the 6300 is limited to low profile cards.  You can not hang an ATX, it would not start-up without jumpering pins.  Also, I am trying to remember the slot wattage.  Something about it is only 35W.
