Hi beta-tester john
what you say feels "realistic". I have also had problems to belive that it could be that much. In the peaks of course it will be more and a stronger powersupply unit will be more steady.
I think I will continue with what I have. If something happens - then Iwill uppgrade.

Hello, i am wanting to upgrade my PSU but im not sure if the one i want will fit in my case.
I have a HP Pavillion 2170a and the official PSU dimensions are 150mm x 140mm x 86mm but the PSU i am looking at is an Antec High Current Gamer 620W Modular but its dimensions are 86 mm (H) x 150 mm (W) x 160 mm (D).
Will it fit in my case?
What i am a little confused about is that HP hasnt stated what the PSU dimensions mean, is the 150mm the length or width?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
Perhaps ther best thing you could do would be to actually measure the dimensions of youir power supply to see with is H W L etc and compare? 🙂
NoOt sure but it sounds alittle too big.
Kind regards john

Hi Berrax
Sounds a good idea to me. I am of the old school that "if it isnt broke do not fix it" 🙂
I would point out my own system is an HP p6-2160ea with a tinyish 300W psu and running an AMD Radeon HD 6570 which shows as drawing 46W at load. The reason I say this is the recommendation of thisd particular graphics card says a minmu of a 450W PSU.
I think I will be sacrificing my internal DVD to put in the hefty Hipper 560W PSU I have eventually and use an external DVD (The actual dimensions of the Hipper mean it will not fit in the case with the DVD in situ 🙂
Please let us know how you get on
kind regards john

Hi
It is important to check that it will physically fit into your case (With Modular type PSUs the leads add another 45-55mm on some models.
Perhaps you could switch your computer off, remove side of case and measure the actual space from top back of your case to the point where your DVD leads come out? That would give you a safer idea of space.
The other thing to check is the power connector to the main board, is it a standard 20/24 pin jobby ie atx standard?
Hope this helps.

Hi Clarke-PC
Not sure but I may have missed your original post.
If it is about dimensions please see my previous post or you could simply measure the dimensions of your PSU or the case space as previous reply.
If it has not beren answered, please repost and we will do our best to help if possible.
Kind regards john
