Hey everyone.

A day ago, my monitor (HP 2310 series wide LCD monitor) started to randomly turn off and on (like in, the screen turns black for a second and then turns on again), and I have no idea why. I've had this monitor for one and a half year now and never had a problem. It just randomly started yesterday, I haven't changed anything on my PC, it seems the problem is the monitor because I tried to switch it with one of my older monitors and there are no problems at all. My operation system is Windows 7. Sometimes a error message pops up, saying "Input Signal out of range, change to 1920x1080 and 60Hz" but the monitor is already set to those settings...

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hello Bowske,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I have read your post on how your Monitor will flicker off, and I would be happy to assist you!

Since you have tested more than one monitor with your desktop computer, I recommend following this document on when the Monitor is Blank. This should help alleviate, or identify if there is a hardware issue with the monitor.

If the issue persists, please call our technical support at 1-800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

I just figured out that the problem is with the HDMI cable, probably a loose contact inside!

But thank you anyways for the help. Just saved a lot of money by just switching cables.
