HP 5-Button Mouse - BR376AA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have just installed the HP 5-Button Comfort Optical Mouse on my ASUS Laptop running Windos 10.

By default, it worked, but there was no way to configure the buttons, so I downloaded a driver from the HP site. Since I couldn't find a Windows 10 Driver, I installed one for Windows 7.

I could still find no way to configure the buttons, so I installed HP Support Assistant. However, when I tried to Add A Device and it did a scan, it does not detect the HP Mouse.

When looking at the Hardward Properties of the mouse, it's recorded as a Microsoft device, sort of (!). See this screen-shot

When I click on "Additional mouse options" under Settings (see this screen shot)

I eventually get this pop-up:

I'm now stumped!

Some advice wold be appreciated.

Thanks

Alex

Hello @AlexGoodall,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.

I came across your post about the mouse issue, and wanted to help!

There seems to be no Windows 10 drivers available for that product, on the HP site.  This may be the reason why you are having some issues.  You can try uninstalling the mouse, and reinstalling it.  If you are having trouble with the install, then try using Microsoft Fix It.  I hope this helps.

Please let me know if this information helps you resolve the issue by marking this post as  "Accept as Solution" , this will help others easily find the information they may be looking for.  Also, clicking the Thumbs up below is a great way to say thanks!

That mouse may be made by Microsoft for HP, I can find no windows 10 drivers for that mouse, you may be out of luck using it in Windows 10.

You might try the Microsoft Intellipoint software v8.2, I have used it in the past to configure non-Microsoft mice.

It seems that Microsoft Fix-It does not operate on Windows 10.

Thanks,  mumdog - but it seems that Intellimouse is also unavailable on Windows 10.

There seems to be a pattern here...

I experienced the same problems as the first post above. A solution would be helpful. Thanks!
