Is it still not showing up? There was a little but where I wasn't able to see it either, but now I can see it fine.

And I'm sure you know this, but I wouldn't attach the green PWR ON wire without attaching a ground and the PWR GOOD wire (white or grey color?).

I can see your diagram on my phone, work pc must have the site blocked that you used.

This diagram is perfect and exactly what I needed when doing mine, although I was able to mostly piece it together without.  The one thing you might add is the fan connection so that you dont get an error on startup, should be easy enough to do.

Hy guys. Nice to see that the interest on this topic has really picked up. Here's my status update on my rig:

 

- Very happy with it. No problems to report so far. Works exactly as if the HP PSU was still there. The only thing I tought would be a weak link in my system was the cheap 2 Amps step up voltage converter I bought from ebay (to increase the 5Vdc FSB from my Antec 500w PSU to the 12Vdc FSB required by the HP motherboard) and even that is still running solid and cool. Suspend to ram? Not a problem.

- Powering my hungry GTX670? no problems.

- Been playing COD black ops 3 now and using the system as a media center, so it is on A LOT of time.

 

 

I believe there are some users that asked for more info about my build, namely my psu model. Please check the pictures in my post on page 3. Its all there.  But I'll answer what I now.

Cool. I may modify it to show the wiring for the psu fan rpm sensor.
Xargxar, do you have a link for the wire splicing clips that you used? I think that would also help people who aren't comfortable with soldering and stuff. And I don't remember, did you solder the wires to the voltage step up unit? Or did you find a different route?
I assume something like these would work as well? I'm not sure if the gauges are the correct, but the idea is there, right?

Hi everyone i suffer the problem that i want to use an other psu
I did(i think well) the wireing, but it is not doing anything 😞
Also i dont have the case, so i tried the pins on the motherboard(do you know which two i need to contact?)
(The psu is working if i put the green wire to thr ground, but when i connect to the motherboard it doesnt do anything, or how i start the PC?)

yes, splicers are a way to go. I opted for a jig consisting in a female 24pin atx power socket (salvaged from a scrap mboard) on one side, the connectors needed by the HP mboard on the other side and about 10cm (3'') of the power supply discarded  wires in between. The step up converter is also located between the connectors. After testing, I used shrink tube to wrap up the whole jig. This way, you can swap the psu with ease without modifying it at all.

Don't beat yourself up yet. There is a hit or miss factor with the psu you choose. I've been there and almost gave up. I know for sure my psu works( 500w Antec, see pic on page 3 for more info), but cannot offer any advice at this time on other psu models. I has something to do with the way the psu handles and monitors the load across the DC rails. Only the manufacturer of the psu would be of help imo.

yes, you need the step up boost to go from the 5v the PSU supplies to 12V that the motherboard requires.

 

I see you ahve looked at the diagram, but from looking at your wiring you do not have the step up booster there, and it is required to get this to start.
