What type of DVD disks are readable with this drive?  Is it DVD + or DVD -?

Hello pazdar,

This was tricky. HP doesn't provide information on that drive on the support site so I couldn't find what discs it supported. So I had to find a computer that actually used that drive.

According to this forum thread http://goo.gl/IEnqz the Compaq CQ3495AN uses that player. When I look at the specs for the computer http://goo.gl/eyjm9 I was able to find a table that helps tell what discs are supported.
DVD-ROM SL
DVD-ROM DL
DVD+R SL
DVD+R DL
DVD+RW SL
DVD-R SL
DVD-R DL
DVD-RW SL

Dual layer rewritable are not supported.

If you have an HP PC with that drive in it then it's best to check the specs of that computer to verify the same information otherwise what is stated above should still remain to be true.
