Install new modem and now printer will not connect wirelessly.  Modem is Actiontec GT724WG.  It searches and searches but will not connect. Info given to printer is a O. K. just says connect find modem.

@SEGADawg

A very warm welcome to the HP community. A very good day to you.

I understand that you have an HP ENVY 5642 e-All-in-One Printer and after installing a new model the printer does not connect wirelessly. The printer tries to search but will not connect. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.

I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Restore network defaults on your printer:
  1. From the printer control panel, touch Setup and then touch Network Setup.
  2. Select restore network defaults. Press OK.

  • Re-run the wireless setup wizard:

This should make your printer connect to the new router's network. I hope this information helps.

Please keep me posted on the results. Cheers! 🙂
