I have a HP Envy h9-1420t. The upgraded video card fan stopped working. Trying to get the onboard video card to work. Pulled the covers off of the two DVI ports and tried both. No video.

I purchased a EVGA GeForce GT 610 to replace the card that came with the computer. It did not display anything on the monitor. Then I removed the covers off of the two DVI ports on the back of the computer. Neither of those worked.

I removed the Nvidia card from the computer before inserting a new card and trying onboard video.

I tried everything in the Secure Boot link that you sent me to. No luck.
