Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey.

Trying to connect my Acer TravelMate with HP Pavilion 25xi, but monitor screen in black.

Been trying to hold on/off button in but it does nothing.

Can someone please help me? 🙂 I don't know much about computers so go easy please 😛

Thank you in advance!

The problem is with your notebook or operatng system and is not likely to be your display.

While logged into Windows 10, hold down the Windows ket and tap the P key to enter presentation mode.

Keep holding down the Windows key.

Use the up and down arrow keys to select the mode (probably Duplicate) you want displayed on your HP Pavilion 25xi.

Hey 🙂

Really appreciate your response!

When I use HDMI cable and choose Duplicate mode my laptop screen is "flicking" couple of seconds and nothing happens.

When I use VMS cable and choose a Duplicate mode, my laptop screen is going black(so is HP screen) and I have to disconnect the cable to get my laptop back.

Screen is plugged in and behind the screen is little light so I know that power runs through but on/off button doesn't respond and other LED buttons don't show up. Don't want to bin it yet, just in case.

I Have another monitor that works straight away when I connect it to my laptop via HDMI (not HP)

VMS cable?   Do you mean VGA instead?

OK.

Until you verify the display is set correctly,  it still does not mean that is a problem with the HP Pavilion 25xi display.

Have you used the onscreen menu of the HP display to set which input port you want to use before you use the presentation mode setting? That is important.

VGA i meant yes, Thanks 🙂

Can you please advise where I can find onscreen menu of the HP display ?

When I connect the screen, only thing that pops up is something called Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel, and there is no cable settings.

One thing I also found from Device Manager, it says that: Device is in working properly. (under HP Palivion)

I'm really sorry about the hassle and really appreciate your help! 🙂

Certainly. See the following attached pdf file. The pdf file is the user manual for your display.  Page nine is where you will find the detailed information that will allow you to access the onscreen menu.  Page 10 explains  what happens when you turn on the display.
