HP Recommended

I really do not understand this, i've seen bios updates passing by on the HP Pavilion Desktop - 500-405nd download site multiple times all dated newer as the one installed on my device but none of these updates seem compatible with my device?

 

What is going on here?

I see that HP does not like answering "BIOS update" type of questions. I am having lots of "fun", and it already cost me about $200 to recover data as my BIOS was loaded with "latest and greatest" firmware from HO site, and my PC became useless. Would not even respond to Esc, F2, etc during bootup. Do NOT update your BIOS even if HP says that it is "strongly recommended".
