I have "HP Pavilion Desktop PC p6720jp".I want to change the CPU because i want to increase the computer's specs.
But,When i change the CPU from "Intel Celeron 450" to the "Core 2 Quad Q9650", now one short beeps and one long beeps is repeated.PC does not start. This symptom is repaired and returned to the original CPU.
"Processor upgrade information"(http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01746799) is to have been written to correspond to the "Intel Core 2 Quad (Yorkfield core) series".
Please tell me How do I do this problem can be solved.

Hello @Yuuji,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I understand that you are having an issue with the desktop starting, and wanted to assist you! I see that after replacing the Processor, the desktop will no longer start, and beeps.
Are you also indicating that when you reinstalled the original Processor, the desktop will start without issue? You seem to have a compatible replacement Processor. Try reinstalling again. If you have the same issue with the beeps, try reseating the Memory Modules. Please post back with the results.
