How do I turn off Power management in the Bios of a HP p6-2055a?
I have specific power settings in windows 7,so I want to turn off the power settings in the bios.
In the BIOS Under Power management, Hardware power management, there are two listings.
1) SATA power management:enabled
2)S5 maximum power saving: enabled
what do the two things actually do, and is this what i need to turn off, to stop CPU throttling?

Hello @artyy,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I came across your post about the Power Management Options, in the BIOS, and wanted to help!
SATA Power Management - Enables or disables SATA bus and/or device power management.
S5 Maximum Power Savings - Turns off power to all nonessential hardware when system is off to meet EUP Lot 6 requirement of less than 1 Watt power usage.
You can review the following document for more information, if needed:
HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - BIOS Setup Utility Information and Menu Options
I believe you are going into the Power Tab, when in the BIOS Setup Utility menu. The tab that you are looking for, is the Advanced Tab. It is here, in which you will find all the options to keep the CPU Power Management from conflicting with Windows. You can review the following resource for more information, if needed: BIOS for Beginners (Not an HP supported Web site).
