Hello sdvann,
What operating system are you using?
To change or fix the Edit context menu in Windows, follow this tutorial. This will work for Vista, 7 and 8.
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/17882-edit-context-menu-change-default-program-windows.html
To change Autoplay settings, set a Default Program or change a file type association with a program...
Go to Start / Control Panel / Default Programs.
There you can change what opens a file when you click on it.
Let me know if this helps.

I am not there to see what you are seeing so I need you to be specific.
If you answer my questions, I can better help you.
"What operating system are you using?" I assume Windows 7.
What is the model # of your computer?
What viewer are you using that you dont see the EDIT option in the menubar? Is it Windows photo viewer, Windows explorer, Media Smart or was it the editor you dont have installed anymore?
Media Smart is a viewer, not an editor. IF you do not have a photo editor installed, there is nothing for EDIT to point to.
Windows 7 does not have an EDIT button on the menu bar of windows photo viewer or explorer but it does have the EDIT option in the context menu pop up when you right click a photo file.
Ergo, I am a little confused as to what you mean.

My only responce is up above yours.
If you won't answer my questions, I cannot understand what is happening with your system to try to figure it out.
I see you posted in the Desktop section now also.
The only Edit option in Wndows 7 is shown when you RIGHT CLICK on a photo file inside Windows Explorer.
If the Edit option is not in the Context pop up menu, then you can fix it via the info on this link.

I have not sent you any emails.

I have HP Windows 7, desktop, HP Pavilion p6774y PC. Forget about the moving. In My Pictures at top - under that it shows LIBRARIES, under that is PICTURES. I click and it opens to Pictures Library and shows my folders. I click on folder and top shows - Organize - Open - Share With - Slide Show - Burn - New Folder. I click on a pic in folder and top shows - Organize - Preview - Share With - Print - Burn - New Folder. IT USED TO SAY "edit" also and I could make changes to pics like lighten, crop, etc. Right clicking on pic does not show edit option. Sorry for the confusion, I am not at all savy on inside of computer. My computer crashed and HP had to reload and my picure file is not like the old one. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, just say you can't help me and I'll drop it. Thank you for trying though.

If I am still misunderstanding, my apologies.
So just to make sure I am on the same page as you are, I am posting this screen shot from Windows 7 Explorer to make sure I am understanding.
If the image does not show yet, it may take the server 24 hrs to allow it (security stuff). Yes very aggravating.
Is the area of the bottom right arrow, the actual area you are referring to?
If so, I have never seen and Edit button there to send photos to an editor with.
The other Edit option (the top left arrow) is part of the Windows File Menu, only for Undo, Redo, Cut, Copy, Paste and etc.
To enable this, open a Window, click Organize, point to Layout, and then click Menu bar.

There is however, a Edit Photo button in the top of the MediaSmart Photo Viewer itself. This is the only Edit button I know of for a Menu bar.
If none of this is what you are talking about or I still have not got your meaning, then I am sorry I cannot help you any further.

There is an Open button inside of Wndows Photo Viewer that gives the option to open a photo into an editor of your choice.
Windows Live Gallery used ot have an Edit or "Fix" button but I understand that Microsoft removed this feature.
