I have an hp requiring a password to log in, idk, how do I reset it to factory

Basically-tapping F11 immediately after powering on. Depending on which version of Windows you are running there are a few variations.

 

For Windows 7:

For Windows 8:

For Windows 10:

It may be possible to reset the Windows-login password.

 

For a "desktop" computer, since you have physical access, you can also delete any "power-on" password.

 

Much quicker than a "system restore", which may DELETE all your personal files, if you are not careful!

 

Or, Google-search for "Nordahl offline password".

Download this software, and burn it to a CD-recordable.

Boot your computer from this media, and follow the on-screen instructions to "blank" the current password.

Then, reboot normally.

When asked for the password, just press ENTER.

When Windows is running, set a new password.
