Pavilion 23 Desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Folks,

When booting up my Pavilion 23 all in one desktop running Windows 10, I got a "keyboard error" message with the wired keyboard and mouse that came with the desktop.

So I went out and bought a wireless keyboard and mouse. Still got a "keyboard error" message.

So what the heck went out and bought another wired keyboard and mouse set. Which to my non surprise still gave "keyboard error" message.

The keyboard and mouse in all instances above is dead and cannnot make any input at all and gets stuck on the screen after Windows 10 starts up. I can't enter SAFE mode or BIOS as the input devices are not responding at all

So basically stuck with a dead brick which cant do anything.

Please could someone shed some light on how I can solve this.

Thanks very much.

Hi @azmany72

Welcome to the HP Forums!

It is a great way to engage, post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are getting keyboard error on start up.

I’d love to help!

There should be an option in BIOS where you can select stop on all but keyboard failures, the only problem is you need an older PS/2 keyboard to get into the BIOS to do it.

Please check if you can get a PS/2 keyboard and connect it to your computer and change the settings in the bios.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Managed to get a PS2 keyboard and plugged it in whilst being attached to a PS2 to USB dongle.

Still got the "Keyboard Error" message and the keyboard is dead.

Kept pressing ESC to enter BIOS but nothing happens.

Still stuck on the Wndows 10 pre log in screen.

Any other options?

Thanks.
