ProDesk 600 G2
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Using Acronis I wiped the hard drive that was loaded with W7 32 Bit Pro.  I'm attempting to load Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.  When the first screen comes up loading W7 Ultimate I have no Keyboard or Mouse action.  If I go into the BIOS the mouse and keyboard work.  I have moved the the both of them from front to rear, only using USB 2.0 connections even tried a PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse, no change.

Hi, @ripcord2 :

The easiest thing to do to fix the issue you are having would be to use a PS/2 KB and mouse to install W7.

If you have the G2 mini, or you don't have a PS/2 KB and mouse, you have to use this tool to put the USB3 drivers into your W7 installation flash drive.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25476/NUCs-Windows-7-USB-3-0-Creator-Utility

There is a readme link on the page for how to use the tool.

Here's why the KB and mouse are freezing during the installation process...

1. The Intel Skylake chipset your PC has, does not have native USB2 support until after you install the Intel chipset drivers, which you can't install until you get W7 installed.  That is why the USB2 ports don't work during the installation process.

2.  Your W7 installation media does not have USB3 support, which is why the USB 3 ports don't work during the installation process.

Since neither the USB2 or USB3 ports work during the installation process, that is why the KB and mouse stop working.

It didn't correct the problem.  I re-installed my W 7 Pro backup back on the tower.  With W 7 Pro back on the PC the W7 Ultimate is now loading.

I tried a different CD and with using a PS2 Keyboard and Mouse I finally got W 7 Ultimate 32 bit to load.

What site can I access for needed drivers for my ProDesk 600 G2 for W 7 Ultimate 32 bit?

Here's the link to the W7 32 bit support page for the 600 G2 SFF.

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-prodesk-600-g2-small-form-factor-pc/7633319

It doesn't matter what form factor PC you have, nor does it matter what version of W7 32 bit you are running.

The drivers work on any edition of W7...starter, basic, home premium, pro, ultimate or enterprise.

I tried a differnt W 7 Ultimate CD.  That load at least had drivers for PS2 Keyboard and Mouse.   I loaded all the needed drivers from different vendors and now the tower is ready for production.

Thanks for the support.
