Hi again.
Thankyou the video driver worked great, so one problem solved. thanks
On the ethernet driver.
It made it show up differently instead of internet adapter, Now its listed as a Ethernet Controller but with a Yellow question mark.
I hope this doesn't cause you to pull out your hair too, LOL!
Thankyou for all your work here!
I know this really confusing me since I barely know anything about installing stuff. ugh.

You're very welcome.
Now how about reinstalling that first ethernet driver I posted from Realtek.
If that doesn't work, you may want to consider buying a cheap PCI network card because there may be something wrong with the O/B one.

Ok I tried that and all I got was .. can not find necessary hardware, so it's probable bad as you said. But at least it's has some hope if I buy a PCI network card.
So thankyou so much for everything!!
since I'm here, I do have a question about something different. after I had installed my xp home edition , I get at the beginning of start up a choice of ...Please select operating system to start, it shows xp home twice. I've never had a screen like that any time I've ever installed windows in a pc,,,,so I don't know why it's coming up or what to do.
Have a great day!

You're very welcome.
You can try this...Control Panel -> System -> Advanced tab -> Startup and Recovery Settings -> Time to display list of operating systems - change to zero.
Alternatively, click the Edit button and remove the unnecessary OS line from [operating systems] section if there's more than one - but you have to be sure which one, otherwise it won't boot.
You have a great evening!

Hi, barkeywayne:
Below is the link to the HP driver you need for the Intel(R) PRO/100 VE network adapter:
You may have to manually install the driver from the device in the device manager and browse to the installation folder if it doesn't install automatically.
