HP Pavilion 25bw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a HP Pavilion 25bw monitor. Lately the monitor turns off if it is slightly touched. After looking at the back of the monitor I noticed that the plug-in for the power supply is loose. In order for the monitor to stay on I would have to have the cord at a certain angle.

Is there a way for me to fix this hardware issue?

Hi there @Chris_559,

I hope you find your Support Forum experience a positive one!  It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that your display has a loose power connection. I am happy to help with this.

From your description it sounds like the problem is the power connector in the display and not just a loose cable.  If that is the case then you have two repair options.  You can arrange a repair with either HP or a service depot to fix the connection. The second choice is to take a shot at a self repair, but that would require some tools, and probably some soldering to fix the loose connector, assuming the connector does not require a complete replacement. Factors in your choice would be warranty status and how comfortable you are with self-repair.

If you wish to arrange a repair with HP, please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp and create a case for your issue and contact HP. If you live outside the US/Canada, please click the link below to get the contact information for your region. http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html

Please let me know whether that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.
