pavilion 500-152
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My work computer is the hp pavilion 500-152ea and yesterday in the morning, I had windows 7 with 2 monitors working on the computer. I upgraded to windows 10 and now, after being on the phone with HP tech for over an hour and a fee, I was told my graphics card is not sufficient enough to use 2 monitors.

I need 2 monitors and this computer for my job but after doing some research, I'm seeing that if I upgrade my graphics card, I may need to update the power supply. So a simple windows 7 to 10 update could cost a good amount of money.

Any thoughts?

According to the SUPPORT PAGE, that model has a Radeon HD 8470   and the card itself can support two monitors. IE:

Supports up to two displays at the same time and  Windows 10 should not have disrupted that ability.

The new Windows 10 driver for that card might be needed to regain control

So when I clicked on the link, it has two options to download... Catalyst Software Suite or Radeon Software Crimson Edition Beta?

From what I read about the Windows 7, it had CCC where the two monitors could be seen.  I did not read about if Radeon Software Crimson Edition Beta would  give the same/similar display settings.  I do not have a AMD graphics cards, that I am aware of.  I just got a new HP desktop.  I will check to see what it has.  If it has any AMD graphics will report back.

The New HP desktop does have the Radeon graphics card and the settings for multiple monitors works from within the Display Settings, as it should.  It should be able to see the 2nd monitor when you right click on an empty spot of the desktop, then pick "Display Settings"  Once that screen opens click on "Detect" and the second monitor should show up.

This is assuming that the graphics driver was updated to the Windows 10 driver.

On that page it states"As a courtesy to our valued supporters we are providing a final Beta driver together with the release of the AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition. The AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition Beta driver includes the redesigned user interface as well as some enhanced features."

If that does not fix the situation, then the driver must not support that card correctly.
