I second that, I'm using two monitors, one of the monitors will not turn on.... keep saying "lockout". I tried holding the power button down for 10 sec....20 sec....30 sec etc. NOTHING! its a new monitor, in meaning I purchased it a year ago and did not use it until now. I went out and purchased the cable to be able to run dual monitors.... again.... nothing..... Can someone, anyone please help me....

HI FeedUp2:
I believe that you are having an issue with the one monitor not turning on, and you get a lockout error. I assume that the computer does turn on. If this is incorrect please let me know.
I will be happy to provide some documentation to assist you. You did not provide your details so I am selecting ones that I believe may help. Here is a Microsoft document on Guided Help: Dual monitor setup is easy in Windows 7! click here. Here is a HP link to "Using and Adjusting Your Monitor" click here. Here is one for Power Button Lockout Message Appears on the Screen click here.If this has not helped, and you require further assistance, please reply back with your details. The model of your computer. and monitor, as well as what operating system you are running.

HI gnaster88:
Thank you for your post. I would like to help.
I am not sure if your computer will not power on, or the monitor.
When posting it is beneficial, if you provide the exact issue your experiencing and the specifics of your setup.: The exact model of computer do you have, the operating system you are running and if it is 32 or 64 bit? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? I am waiting for your response.

I hope it's o.k. to add my problem to the thread... it's similar...
Compaq desktop PC:
For a couple of weeks, it had a weird problem: it would not turn on unless the ethernet light was on. Now the ethernet light won't go on when it's attached to this computer at all.
When I plug it in, the little green light in the back goes on, but the power button won't do anything.
I tried the advice above re; holding button in and then plugging it in, but it didn't do anything.
Could it be something fixable like a loose connection, or is the entire computer shot?

Maybe I should have started a new thread... it's not a laptop, it's a Compaq desktop...
The little green light goes on in the back when I plug it in, but that's all it will do... power button doesn't do anything
