If both power and OSD are locked out how do I reset the monitor so I am not locked out. The Main question I have though is the monitor turns on for 1/4 sec then goes blank no OSD menu no display of any kind. not going to sleep. nothing. I just bought this monitor it should work.

Hello akv9twin,
I see that you have a problem with your HP monitor. I would like to help with this issue but I need some information.
Can you provide the model and product number of the monitor? Here is a link showing how to find this information.
With it being new monitor you just bought you should be able to return it if it isn't working correctly.

I have just inherited by late brother's HP computer and I'm trying to get up and going.
I have determined by this forum that I have a monitor with OSD lockout.
I have tried the 10 sec hold menu button and get nothing
I have tried holding the power button 25 to 30 seconds and get nothing.
I get an occasional flash about inserting opertaing disk
I get an occi asional flash there is no signal
I can barely see something on the screen (or am I just looking so har I imagine it?)
The only thing I have not tried is actually connection to internet.
Does it need to be connected to interent?
My own computer doesn't.
Any help is appreciate - I can hear my brother laughing at me from the urn on top of my book shelf.
