Omen 870-135vx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought a refurbished omen desktop with a GTX 1070.  Everything worked for for a few days, but in the last 24 hours, I've come in a couple times to a black screen and the monitor showing no signal.  I thought maybe the monitor was bad because on reboot, I didn't see the post screen.  Then I switch to a new monitor using the display port cable instead of a DVI cable and I was able to see the signal.   Then a few hours later, that screen went black too, no signal. I tried completely powering down the machine multiple times, and switching to a different display port, but that did not help.  I double-checked the monity to make sure it had the right source selected.   Then i finally switch to the HDMI port on the card and now the monitor works.     Anyone know what might be going on?

@nebosite

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand the Omen desktop with GTX 1070 video stopped working,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Did you check if the DVI port is working fine using an alternate DVI cable with the other monitor?

Have you installed the video card drivers and the BIOS updates?

While you respond to that, here's a few things you should do:

Please go ahead and update the drivers using the official HP website: Click here

If the latest drivers are unavailable, you can always go to the Nvidia Geforce manufacturer site and download them: Click here to access.

If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,

Followed by clicking on "Accept as solution" from the drop-down menu on the upper right corner,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum.  Have a great day!
