For a little while now my pc has been notifying me that I keep disconnecting from my internet connection - sometimes while I'm actually sat looking at Google or even in my online bank account. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason, I have ran the diagnostic tools more times than I can count, I have disconnected and re-set my internet hub - had a lengthy conversation with my internet provider and ran some fairly exhaustive tests with them - this confirmed it was not the hub (connected by an Ethernet cable). If I refresh the page, the connection comes back... I tried to see if there was any updated drivers for my pc but the page only gives me options for Windows 8.1 - I run Windows 10 64bit. My pc is a Pavilion 500-141ea. Any clue would be appreciated.

According to the SUPPORT PAGE for that model, it uses: Atheros AR8161L gigabit Ethernet controller.

I found this on a Microsoft thread: found HERE

Open command prompt as admin and run "netsh int ip reset all" "netsh winsock reset catalog" and "netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel = disabled" then reboot your computer by typing "shutdown -r"

Type those commands w/out the quotes of course.

Hope that helps improve your connectivity issues.

It seems they have not updated drivers to include Windows 10 on the manufacurer's site but others have shown they have drivers that work on Windows 10.  If the above doesn't fix the issue, try Googling for drivers for Atheros AR8161L gigabit Ethernet controller or use a driver finder software free scan.  DriverMax was one that I found that claimed to have a driver for that Ethernet chip.

I'm not an HP employee.
