I have a Pavilion 22xi flat screen monitor that is 1 year, 9 months old, so it’s outside of the 1 year warranty period. For about the last month, it has been turning itself off after being on for about an hour or 2. By this, I mean the power indicator light also goes out, in addition to the screen going blank, so it’s totally shut off , while the rest of the PC remains on. I can turn it back on at the power button, but after that, it starts turning itself off with increasing frequency, to the point where it will eventually stay on for only a few seconds before shutting itself off again. The problem seems to increase the more I use the PC for web-browsing or the more I use it on a website with a high video demand. For that first hour or 2 of usage, it seems to work alright with no problems. But after that, it starts shutting itself off.
I haven’t used any testing procedure on the monitor, such as using different video cables, trying it with a different PC, updating any BIOS either on the PC or the monitor, or performing a “hard reset” on the PC itself. I do believe the video driver for the monitor is up to date.
The PC the monitor is connected to is an HP Pavilion P7-1510 desktop PC on a Windows 8.1, 64-bit operating system.
Is there a chance that the separate power transformer for the monitor itself is bad?
I was hoping someone could give me some idea as to where the problem might be and how to repair it. I’d hate to have to replace it after only 1 year and 9 months of use. Thank you.

Hello @BrianM1,
I understand that your HP Pavilion 22xi monitor is turning off after about an hours use. I am providing you with some steps you can try below:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it
Step 6. Try different cables between your computer and monitor.
Step 7. Replace the power supply (black cord and box running from the monitor and the wall) with a compatible one.
If the above steps did not resolve your issue you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the issue persists. Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. Thanks so much for your response. I've already tried steps 1-5 of your recommendations with no change to the problem. I'll try steps 6-7 soon and let you know the results. I'll also try the monitor with a different PC if I can. Thanks again for your help.

Does HP sell replacement monitor power supplies? Or would they recommend a vendor to go to to buy a replacement? I see in my monitor spec sheet that Liteon made the original power supply but I'm having trouble finding a replacement directly from them. I noticed on Amazon that a company called Up Bright sells repalcemant power supplies for this particular monitor. Do you know if they make good quality power supples? Any help would be really appreciated here. Thanks.
