I upgraded from 32bit Vista to 64bit Windows 7 Ultimate and the driver for the Ethernet Controller is missing.  Can someone help me locate a compatible driver?

Many Thanks!!

Hi:

This has got me buffaloed.

According to your system specs you have the  Intel 82566DC-2 Gigabit Network Connection.

OK, this is my last shot. If this doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you...

I took the driver file and extracted the files into a zipped folder I named Network Drivers. I have uploaded it onto my MS Skydrive space.

Download the file, unzip it and make sure you make a note where you saved it to. It should save to your downloads folder in Windows 7.

Now, click on your network adapter in the device manager, click on the driver tab. Click on update driver. Select the Browse My Computer for Software option. Browse to the folder you unzipped with the network drivers, and see if it loads the drivers then. If it doesn't, I give up.

Thanks for the help, but I received an error message that my system does not meet the minimum requirements for the software to run.

Do you have a different driver?

I do appreciate your help!

Hi:

I see what you mean. Normally those files extract to a folder and even if you can't get it to install automatically, you can install it manually.

Give me a few minutes to see if I can find it on Intel's website...

Hi:

I think I have found it on Intel's website.

Try this one and see if that does the trick. Second on the list (x64).

It installed, but nothing happened.  Restarted the computer and the device manager still shows that the driver is missing.

I appreciate your effort!

Cool!

You're welcome!

Are there any other drivers you need?  If so, please let me know and I will try to find them for you.

Please save that network driver file somewhere, so you have it in case you need it again.

I am going to delete that file from my Skydrive and unshare it.
