Prodesk 400 - 490 series

Hi! On Hp Prodesk 400 G3 series and 490 G3 series, if I disconnect the front usb 3 cable from mainboard, during Post is displayed

Cable Detection Error. 41A-Front Usb 2 not connected. Front usb cable has been detached or unseated from the motherboard. Press enter to continue.

I need to disconnect the cable for mount a log pci-express 16x video card.

From bios I can't ignore post errors, I can't disable front usb (only hide usb front or rear in os using last bios version).

How I solve my problem?  HP expects to disconnect the front usb?

Thanks, regards

Won't the USB3 front cable fit under or in front of the video card? I would expect that the video card you are using is a single slot type.

The video card is a double-slot type, and the fan touches on Front USB3 cable

Actually, HP never expected the desktop to be upgraded. I suggest returning that one as not fitting physically.

Source one that has the fan in a better place.

The images at the video card manufacturer's website show where the fan(s) are.

What is the card's complete model information with number and brand?

You will face the very same issue with the other Pro desk PC. The motherboard has the very same physical setup.

You could consider entering the BIOS  and clicking on the security tab, then USB security and disabling the front USB ports.

That may resolve the issue, but, unfortunately, it also disables the use of the two front ports.

Sorry, but in bios is only possible to "Hide usb in os" and not to disable the usb. Then, during the post, the error appears.

I think HP did not consider disconnecting the Front USB cable

Actually, HP probably did not consider that someone would attempt to upgrade to a  dual-slot type video card in the mini.

You may have to reconsider which video upgrade candidate video cards are suitable. There is clearly an issue with a dual-slot card with the fan in the position it is in.

I know, but I thought the 490 (p/n: X3K57EA#ABZ) was already a suitable machine to mount a dual video card. Thanks, regards
