T520 thin client
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I need to deploy BIOS updates to HP T520 thin clients. I downloaded the update from here:

http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=6875922&swItemId=vc_152153_1&swEnvOid=408...

I can't find any documentation on the silent install options for L41_0105.exe. Anyone know what are the command line options for it?

Better yet, can anyone supply a task sequence script that can be used for this? I've seen HP techs reply to other forums posts with .xml templates for the update.

Thanks much!

Hi,

The Softpaq you have downloaded is not for remote/silent install purpose.

To update t520 BIOS on WES7 with commandline, you have to first get BIOS update tool: safuefi.exe (I cannot upload it here, you can contact the tech consultant in your region for this )

  Windows:              safuwin FILENAME /p /b /n /r /k /sp(For Windows 32bit/Windows 64bit/WinPE 32Bit)
                        safuwinx64 FILENAME /p /b /n /r /k /sp(For Windows 64bit/Windows 64bit/WinPE 64Bit)

As long as you got the tool, you can follow the steps I posted here to create your own DM tasks:

The thinclient team is now working on a new BIOS update method which will by default be integrated in HP Device Manager. Stay tune.
