I have apparently activated the THEFT MODE setting on my HP Pavilion monitor. I have read in the reference
guide that this 'feature' can be enabled if the power and signal connections are removed, provided a related setting is also defined.
I did recently disconnect both cables, in an attempt to resolve some issues caused by the KVM switch I have installed.
Two questions:
Where is this option defined ?
What do I need to do to reset / remove this theft mode setting ?
At present, the monitor is basically unusable.

Hi there @mikeT211
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that you have inadvertently activated the Theft Deterrence
Give this a try to override the Theft Deterrence, press the + and – buttons on the front panel of the monitor at the same time and hold the buttons down for ten seconds.
The setting to enable it is found within the HP My Display software.
If that method to clear the Theft Deterrence does not work, then please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp and create a case for your issue and contact HP. If you live outside the US/Canada, please click the link below to get the contact information for your region.

I hope this helps.
