So I have the hp envy 23 touchsmart model: Hp envy 23-d150 touchsmart all-in-one desktop pc. This model DOES have an hdmi in. I want to use the pc as a monitor for my xbox. So im trying to connect my xbox to the pc with an hdmi cable though I dont know how to switch the display so that I can see my xbox instead of the windows 8 os.

Thanks!

Hi Denis_nov,

I see that you are trying to get the display working from your XBox 360. While, I haven't found anything specific for your product at the base model doesn't seem to include an HDMI input, I have found a document for switching it with a different TouchSmart model.

Using an HDMI Game Console or HDMI Video Player with your TouchSmart PC:

There is a small button on the bottom left of your screen under HDMI IN. After you connect your XBOX to your pc with your HDMI cable press the button. It should work. If not shut down your computer and try again. If that still doesnt work press the window key on your keyboard and X at the same time, go to device manager, then go to display adapters uninstall both drivers listed in there. Dont completely uninstall just uninstall. Restart after each time. It should reinstall itself after it restarts. It should work after that 🙂 Yes I did all of that myself just to get the XBOX 360 to work on this screen to test it out and all.

HP finally fixed this issue today with an update to the HP My Display app. It contains the drivers that support Windows 8.1 with the HDMI input. Of course they don't say anything about it fixing the issue at hand. Download the new app and uninstall the old version before installing the new one. The buttons on the side of the screen now works to switch over to HDMI input mode.

This computer is ridiculous, like the problem with the heating screen was not enough, the HDMI in also does not work for me. I installed the latest My display Application (sp67046.exe) but it still doesn't work! What is wrong with those devices?

Please, do yourself a favour and don't but those devices!

the solution for me was to:

hit the windows button and type 'hp my display'

Now your hdmi button should work.

to make this permanent on reboot go to the options tab in the hp my display UI and check off 'run as system start-up'.

(I don't know why there are so many posts on this and not a single HP rep suggested it)
