biosconfigutility.exe /getconfig:"8200.txt" does NOT work - all I get is:
English
;
; Settings file originally created by BIOS Config Utility
; Version:3.2.3.1
; Date:2015.01.16
;
There are no settings. I have the same problem with HP Z230's. Any suggestions on how to extract the BIOS data? This is driving me INSANE!

The current posting is in a consumer forum which I sometimes browse but do not monitor.
Can you post follow ups related to the BIOS Config Utility ( BCU ) in the PC Client Management area on HP's Enterprise forums ?
http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/HP-PC-Client-Management/bd-p/pc-client-management
I am currently trying to identify why BCU but does not work with your system.
Can you provide the BIOS version of both the 8200 & the Z230 ?
Do the systems have HP factory images or a custom image deployed by your company ?
Which version(s) of Windows is installed ( 7, 8.0, 8.1 ) ?
I do not have a solution at this time but am investigating this behavior.
If you have the opportunity, the following may help determine how much of the WMI is functioning:
Pick up the CMI Admin Tool Kit SoftPaq SP52783
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52783.exe
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52783.html
Once installed, open a CMD shell window and change to the directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HPProviderUtilities\Sample Scripts\Windows Scripts
Run the following command:
Cscript EnumSettings.wsf
This will enumerate all WMI settings on the computer.
The output can be redirected to a file using
Cscript EnumSettings.wsf > settings-report.txt
thanks,
Richard

I can find all kinds of information on how to activate TPM, but can you disable it through the BCU? Is it enough to set the following:
TPM Device
*Hidden
TPM 1.2
TPM 2.0
Activate TPM On Next Boot
*Disable
Enable

Hi,
I'm trying to enable the TPM Chip on a HP 250 G1 Notebook and keep getting the following errors:
<ERROR msg="Unable to open or read configuration file" />
<ERROR msg="BCU return value" real="11" translated="11" />
What configuration file is it looking for?
I'm entering the commands you've noted (since I've already created a password for my Bios):
BIOSConfigUtility.exe /setconfig:TPMEnable.REPSET
I saw that someone else said
"I copied the BiosConfigUtility.exe and my EnableTPM.REPSET file"
Where do I get this EnableTPM.REPSET file from?
Thank you,
John
