You are absolutely correct. My motherboard is the AAHD2-HY rev 1.03, which according to the following website is the Holly2. The HP website does not link the Holly2 specifications page to p7-1254 specifications page. Good find.

The stardard Holly motherboard is revision 1.02 which is linked in the p7-1254 specifications page.
You are probably correct in getting HP support to verify or certify anything. I struggled this morning to get in touch with them, and the support website kept taking me in circles. There was a message that appeared on the website that said they were updating the network.
You are correct about the power supply the requirement. I am in the middle of my PhD in Electrical Engineering, and I am working on software that is designed to make use of the parallel architecture. I am trying to do code development and troubleshooting from home while I have much a more capable computer at my office to run the software when it comes to actual computation for my research. I would like to have more capable graphics card to enable more testing. I am concerned however that GTX 1060, 1070, and 1080 will not work in the p7-1254 as the GTX 1050 Ti does because based on our discussion I have not proven that my motherboard is compatible with UEFI graphics cards.
Do you think the only way of determining that the GTX 1060, 1070, and 1080 will work with my computer is to either try them or find someone else who has?
I apologize for bothering you so much. You are the only one that has been responsive in this conversion, and I appreciate it.

Okay. I finally found a BIOS version 8. The HP Pavilion p6-2143w also uses the Holly2 motherboard. The specifications are found here:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03349236
The website currently has two versions of BIOS 8 currently available: 8.16A and 8.17 Rev. A. I had to follow somewhat of an indirect route to get to the download page presumably due the maintainance taking place on the HP website. I started at this page: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers. Entered p6-2143w and clicked find. Then select Windows operating system and Windows 8. Ironically, if you select Windows 7, no bios software is available.
I have downloaded the both BIOS updates, and I will try them if my motherboard fails to work with the aforementioned graphics cards.
Do you know if there will be any compatibility issues between BIOS 8 and Windows 10?

More capable graphics cards do require more power than the PCI slot can supply. Those cards require a 6-pin PCI-E power connector. Some models of the GTX 1050 Ti require the 6-pin connector, such as EVGA model 04G-P4-6258-KR. This model has two cooling fans instead of one. I believe that the GTX 1060, 1070, and 1080 all require the 6-pin connector. Normally, the specifications for the graphics card will list whether or not a 6-pin power connector is required. I believe that the GTX 1050 Ti was the last graphics card in the GTX series to not require a 6-pin connector on some models.
