Can someone tell me what the difference is in the 3 letter extension on a HP desktop model number?

for example I ordered  this OmniPro XZ823UT#ABA but where I ordered it they say now it is out of stock and will be for a time. But they have this one in stock XZ823UT#ABC. the sales person was not able to tell me what the difference is but she wasn't sure if the C stands for another language code like french. I do not need a french computer so I didnt switch the order until I can find out what it really means but somehow i cannot find that info. #ABA apparently stands for North America, but can someone tell me what #ABC stands for.

Thank You

Hi,

Please check this:

You can always read their specs to see the differences.

Thanks for the answer but that link does not supply the answer to my question. I checked there already yesterday. When you compare the specs for the 2 models they are pretty much identical except the product key extension ABA to ABC, but no where does it list what that extension means.

Hi,

In short: different model based on the previous model. This can be an upgraded one (bigger HDD or better something, ...) or can be a downgraded one or can be a mixture of both due to some parts are not available for that batch.

ABA has a US 101 keyboard.

ABC has a Canadian french keyboard.

recently they have introduced ABL which is also a Canadian french keyboard but I don't know if it Canadian French or Canadian Multilingual

I have been retired from HP for some time, but in the past ABA was the US version of a product and ABX (where X varied) was the designator for a different language configuration.

#ABA is english which includes keyboard and operating system

#ABC is french which includes keyboard and operationg system

#ABL is multilanguage which includes keyboard with french accents and operating system being available in both english and french
