Z820
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HI guys! Trying to put together a fast enough for 4k NLE machine here, so started with a refurb Z820. Managed to get Windows 10 up and running without to much of a fight. One last issue I can't figure out and I have looked and read till my eyes were bloodied with no posotive results.

In Device Manager - Other Devices - Pci Serial Port.  I have a Pci bus 0, Device 22, Function 3 no driver installed error. As far as I know I installed all drivers, updates, etc., etc... at least twice.

As everybody on this forum has more experience with HP workstations then me I thought I would turn it over to the more wise.

Thank you for your help.

o.k. now.

Retracing my steps, always a good thing when lost and confused, I figured out that when I installed Intel Management Software sp744499.exe, I didn't follow directive and run the extracted program from it's installed destination!!! Low & behold when completing step B as written in the release notes, you no longer have issues to repair latter on. Lesson learned - read all the directions you can find, including the release notes.

Thanks again to Paul who attempted to save my eyesight.

Paul,

Thank you for your help. That download installed Intel Rapid Storage Technology enterprise. When ran it sates "Your system is functioning normally". With a bit more eye bleed I found Intel Driver Update Utility. Installed, ran, failed to find any updates my system needed.

Any more advice for the ignorant? Maybe something in Bios... When I installed Windows 10 I had to backtrack from the HP suggested steps and reset the Bios due to my Quadro 5000 not showing a picture on my monitor and causing a six beep / flash code. I reset the bios and went about getting the Windows 10 Disk to boot / formatted the drive I wanted the O.S. on and etc. etc. I have not changed any individual bios settings, simply updated with the Windows 10 version.

"Or possibly the raid utility settings?" he says grabbing at straws
