That message usually means the bootloader has lost is way or is corrupted. It could also mean the hard drive has failed. First start with checking if there is any media in a card slot or a disk in the DVD/CD drive.
Since the OS is Windows 8.1, it might try to fix itself if you use the Recovery Drive. Here is a guide that will direct you:
