Hi,
This NVIDIA GTX 1050 TI would be a good choice for light gaming.

just to be sure, will work with hp 500 070 64 bit dual core? Sorry for the repetion, just don't want to get him something that won't work with his computer. In searching I noticed most are quad core. new computer out of question right now.

Hi,
Open up the Command prompt (admin) and enter: MSINFO32
Check your BIOS level against the below BIOS update link that I have posted for you.
There is a BIOS update for your PC. If your PC is not running this update then I suggest that you update the BIOS. Run a full set of hardware diagnostics before applying the BIOS update to make sure that you PC is stable.
