Hi to all,

I have a problem with my Touchsmart IQ526.

When my Win7 crashed with unknown simptoms like "you need to reset computer twice to boot the operating system".

I flashed the bios from v5.05 to v 5.07.

After that

I turned on my Touchsmart IQ526. First message on a black screen was "Not Enough space in Runtime Area, SMBIOS Data Will not be available"

Then I run the  Windows 7 installation disk and the second message on BLUE screen was "The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant Please contact with your system vendor for updated BIOS has 0x000000A5."

I checked the HDD, made low level format, changed bios battery, reseted bios, reinstalled bios, checked DDR memory, all in all i did everything what was recommended on Hp forums.

Please help to resolve the ISSUE!

Hello @mefisto,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

I understand that after some errors you updated your BIOS and now it is giving you an error message "The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant Please contact with your system vendor for updated BIOS has 0x000000A5.". I recommend that you go into your BIOS and under Advanced choose SATA1 Controller Mode and select IDE and see if it resolves your error.

If it does then you are good to go, if it does not I advise switching the setting back to AHCI and call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html.

Hi Dunidar,

My first thought after I got your reply was that its author is a bot. Finally I realized that you just didn't get the problem. The problem is actually at SMBIOS, not at SATA controler or its settings. I hope you have some skilled personnel who understand BIOS issues and patch errors at your support center. I also hope to get the  solution from you  finally . I really don't think it is possible and time saving to handle the issue by phone.

Looking forward to receiving reply from you as soon as possible,

THX

Hello again  @mefisto,

I am not a bot, but an actual person trying to assist you. Now your issue is a BIOS issue I read as many online articles and posts as I could and everyone of them points back to this being a BIOS issue. Although nobody has nailed down a solution that works for everyone there have been several successes.

Now a mod or patch for your BIOS is not something I can help you with. I can provide you with another possible solution to this. If you go to the Motherboard Specifications, IMIMV-CF (Maureen) page, which is the specifications page for your motherboard. You can try Clearing the CMOS steps and see if they help.

Now I am also giving you a link to a thread on the HP Forums: Not enough space in Runtime area. SMBios data will not be available. Inaccessable BIOS, which was solved by the original poster and he explains what he did to resolve the error. His solution is not something from HP so be warned it could cause worse damage to your computer.

Again, if none of this works I recommend you contact HP Technical Support for help.

I hope this helps. Thank you again for posting on the HP Forums. Have a wonderful day!
