I'm having a problem with getting my all in one hp pavilion desktop's wifi to work. It won't let me connect to the internet, but a few days ago it was working fine. I know I'm getting the internet because I'm using my tablet right now to write this message, and I've been using the internet on my ps3 and Xbox 360. I've tried resetting the router and disconnecting the Wi-Fi network on my desktop then resetting it, but those didn't work. I even uninstalled the last updates I had installed because that was the very last thing I was able to do before it's Wi-Fi stopped working, but that didn't work either. Please, someone help me fix this problem. I use Windows 8.1, it's a 64 bit operating system, and the product number is H5P61AA.

Thank you very much. I was able to fix the problem when I was checking on the info you wanted. When I was checking to see if I had a firewall on, I ran across a page that said I had to go to the control panel. While in there, I found a troubleshooting guide for network access. I ran that, and it said "the device or resource (www.Microsoft.com) is not set up to accept connections on port 'The World Wide Web Service (HTTP)'." When I saw that, I googled what that meant, and it led me to a page that gave me the idea to try and open the internet again. That's when I paid attention to the words "The proxy server isn't responding." Then I googled how to fix the proxy server. I followed the steps to open the tools then internet options. From there I went to connections, then LAN settings, and I unchecked the box "use a proxy server for your LAN..." & I ticked the box that read, "Automatically detect settings." Then it worked! So I guess I was able to MacGyver it by following your questions.
Thanks.

Hello akylepassion,
I understand that your computer is not able to connect to your wireless network, and I would be happy to assist you! To begin, I will need to ask you a few questions:
- What model of router are you using, and how far away is it from the computer?
- Do you have a firewall enabled on your computer or router?
- Have you added any new software or hardware to your all-in-one computer?
In the meantime, I recommend following this document on Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 😎. This should help re-establish a connection between your wireless network and the computer.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, as well as the requested information above. I look forward to your reply!
