HP Pavilion 22cwa 21.5-inch IP
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

My product is 22cwa Display. Recently I purchased a monitor, and was using it just fine. This morning, I managed to connect my monitor to my laptop. But the screen keeps on saying "Check Video Cable", and my lap top tries to connect to the monitor infinitely many times but none of the time works. In addition, if I press "power off (turning the monitor OFF)" button, then my mac book WOULD recognize the monitor and "arrangement" showed in my Settings/display page. However, as soon as I turn the monitor on, it will not work! Connection is broken again. Moreover, I cannot reset my monitor. I press the leftmost button, menu page would not pop up! I unplugged the power cord, and pressed the power off button for more than a minute and turn it back on, still the monitor says "Check Video Cable" and does not let me go to "menu".

Greetings @Michimx,

Thanks for the post and Welcome to HP Forums.

I understand that you are trying to connect your HP Monitor to your MAC computer and it is unable to detect it. Don't worry, I will be glad to help.

Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Have you tried the display on any other computer?

I checked the driver's page of your monitor and no drivers found for MAC. Click here.

Went through the manual of the monitor and found no information for MAC. Click here for the manual.

Recommend you to run an Apple update when the monitor is connected.

Also, refer to this Apple article for connecting an external display.

May I know the Apple product you are using and how is the monitor connected to your computer?

Keep me posted.

If the information I've provided was helpful,
