Go to Control Panel, Programs & Features.Select HP Support Assistant and uninstall it. Restart your machine after removing it.

Next download the latest version for your machine from the link:

Why should I care about hpsf.exe?  I have not found anything helpful about this or any other HP software in my HP computer.

I'm having the same issue.  I tried the suggestion of uninstalling HP Support Assistant, restarting the computer and installing the latest version, but I'm still getting the error message.

It feels like to me, it's a problem with the latest version.  I didn't have any problems with previous versions of HP Support Assistant.
